Tell me about a time you set a goal and were able to achieve it
?
Situation - As a software engineer, I am always try to improve my skills and learn new technologies. One area that I wish to improve upon is full stack development, since I saw these skill have the potential to expand my career opportunities, and enable me to put my ideas into concrete project.
Task - My goal was learn by building a new project, and learn the required tools based on the need of the project. However, I need to balance this with my university classes, which need to put in more efforts and hours.
Action - Firstly, I selected the e-commerce store from my idea note book, since cover all aspect of full stack development, where I need to construct webpage for the front end, item and customer information for the database, and payment API for the backend.
Firstly, I need to deconstruct the project into small actionable milestones. Then, I need to balance the time spent on project with my university schedule, where I adjusted my daily routine by waking up earlier to do project related tasks, without interferring with my study.
Result - As I doing this project, I began to understand the foundational tools requires to build a full stack application in the tech industry, where these concept can be applied to real world projects.
Reflection - Such experience has taught me m the importance of setting specific and achievable goals, and the value of time management in working efficiencies.
