BQ - learning strategy
What learning strategy do you use in your studies?
?
- Personally, I often iterate my learning strategies to ensure they are efficient, and suits my current study or work goals
- Firstly, before learning any specific topics, I will try to gain a bird sight overview of the topic, break down into smaller chunks to learn, and tackle them in order of importance
- Learning by practice, which is the upmost important learning strategy for software engineer, since we need to practice theory learnt in project to consolidate our understanding and further my knowledge. Therefore, once I learnt a new skill, I will try to build something out of it.
- Active recall and spaced repetition, where I use softwares such as anki and obsidian to revisit topic learnt, and test myself against flashcards, turning short term information to long term knowledge
- Feynman's technique, where by the best way to learn anything is to teach. Once you can articulate the idea clearly enough, that other with no prior knowledge can understand you, this indicated that you understood the idea fully.
